Antanas Jasenka is composer of wide spectrum. He is teaching composition in M. K. Ciurlionis Art School from 2002, taking part in many festivals of contemporary music, his electronic and chamber music is playing all around the world. Antanas Jasenka explores many different areas of music - from chamber and symphonic music to opera, from music for theatre and movie to advance avant-garde electronics. The last genre seems to be most successful in his carrier. The very first electronic pieces composed between 1992-1997 such as "Tangophony", "n.A.J.mix'95", "Repeat", "Room Music", "Cut-off" were all recorded with the help of very simple equipment. Author used cut-off, tape mix and collage techniques to create wonderful and imaginary soundscapes. These compositions show Antanas Jasenka's classical European influences from French and German mid 60's electronic music and "musique concrete". Started from "Room Music" author successfully reaches his own style of sound making, although it still was done with home made "cut-off" technique. "Room Music", half an hour piece was released in 1997 by German label "Selektion". Such well-known names of contemporary sound makers, such as Ralf Wehowsky, Achim Wollscheid, Merzbow, Asmus Tietchens and many others took part in this 5CD-box collaboration project. "Deusexmachina", released in 2002 by leading Russian electronic music label "Electroshock Records" shows his new attitudes in electronic music. This is subtle, careful composed piece, where author explores his vision towards infinity inner world, idealism, and spirituality. Used many different techniques, starting from old ones to modern "click & cut", "minimal digital", "minimal music", ambient, environmental, etc. Antanas Jasenka always stands on his own. "An Artist and a Plane", released in 2004 (also on "Electroshock") confirmed that he is foremost electronic music composer in Lithuania. This work shows not only his clear view on his way of making of sound, talent and virtuosity, but also his firm knowledge in composition.
